Ever have a fish make you stay longer?
and myself were packing up and just about to leave. I was on the other side of the sled and I seen a bite on my rod. I screamed “JULIAN SET THAT”.
The rod then doubles over with the best and our only decent fish of the day measuring around 13”.
After that fish we dropped back down and waited for almost another hour but no other jumbos would commit.

Another successful test rip in the sled with yesterday
Got to get out for a day and target some perch. We managed to find a bunch but they had lockjaw.
Still a fun day out on the hard water

Smash fest with last weekend.
Double digit weekend for the both of us. Lines down at 1230am Saturday and last line out at 9am Sunday.
A couple eaters for a future fish fry.

I’m looking for name suggestions for my DIY

I was thinking “FISHHAWG” but I’m looking for other suggestions aswell. Maybe there will even be a prize if I pick your name.

Successful weekend with fishing on nippising. Cold temps and high winds didn’t keep the fish from biting.

Huge shout out to for the hand getting the sled together. More work to come 😜

Hopefully more fishing this season if the temps keep up and my sled keeps running.

Definitely need to get a snorkel on the van.
Had a fun couple hours with running some fire roads near Peterborough.
Between this & I think I’ve figured out the vans limits even though I am still learning with only 28-29” tires it’s making things more challenging then it needs to be
Big plans for trips and the van next year 🔥

A little behind on my posts but one for the books this year.
I love fishing the river but I love it more when it’s just you and you’re buddies on a quiet river bend.
This is far from a quiet river bend but fun times chilling with with landing 3 fish between us and loosing some aswell.
We ended the day with checking out some local trails but I had to bail soon after to go to a family thanksgiving event.
Can’t complain

Peele island was definitely the land of never ending sunsets for us.
On Friday we barely made the ferry being the last ones to pull in at exactly 5:59 for a 6pm ferry. We were completely out of fuel and I pushed the van to its limits fly down the 401 & back roads but we made it.
It was a crazy whirlwind trip with sunrises, hiking, wine and bird watching.
For being an island we seen a lot of wildlife: deer, turkeys, snakes and a bunch of birds we have never seen before.
On our way home Sunday we ended up swinging into grand bend to check it out on our way back home.
Amazing weekend in the books. We are certainly looking forward to going back.

Weekend slam-fest with good ol’ Walter dog 🐶
Met up with at for a weekend of fishing.
The fish were biting, missed a few big ones but landed some beauties. Learnt a lot about fall fishing and gear and tactics to try and change.
Ended up fishing a new lake everyday which was fun.
Going to be hard to top this weekend.

Fun trip up north with my buddy
Awesome trip this weekend with lots of laughs. I got to test out some of the new van setup and i can’t wait to do some more upgrades.
Looking forward to more trips 😜

Little bear with papa bear…..

Bumped into 2 weeks ago at the pike opener. Had the pleasure of chatting his ear off for a few minutes about his plans and his L300 camper.

Sweet set of wheels and should be a good solid vehicle for your travels.

It was a pike-fest at the pike meetup.
First time fishing Lake Ontario which sure let me know not to mess with her. By the middle of the day the winds got up at around 20km/h and definitely any stronger would be super rough out there.
Managed a few decent pike with the all-stars and .
Already itching for the next event and to get out fishing again.

Ended up flipping my kayak on the weekend, Always wear your PFD!!!

I was leaning over vertical jigging into high winds and heavy current and a boat took off from right from behind me and the wave came from behind me and there was nothing I can do and it toppled me over.

I remembered to stay calm and I flipped my kayak back over. was behind me and grabbed my kayak. I tried to pull myself up onto my kayak but with my rubber boots being full of water is was hard to get them vertical or even tread water.

A nearby boat came over very quickly and 2 dudes pulled me up onto the boat. I took a few minutes to assess myself and empty boots. My rods were gone and my phone but my adrenaline was at 100. I had a few cuts but I hopped back in my kayak and went back to the van. Got changed into dry clothes and started assessing the losses.

Ended up catching one walleye before I flipped. And then and I ended up fishing downtown and not much luck there and called it a day.

The high winds were going to persist into Sunday aswell and maybe rain.

I ended up learning a lot this weekend, make sure everything you have floats, vertical jigging techniques, emergency preparedness. I was very thankful to have the van to relax at and have cold drinks and food at.
lafontaine you’ve an absolute legend and I hope we can link up next year and do this again. 👌 🎣

P.S: If anyone has a couple cheap rods/combos for sale hmu in the dms

First time I’ve had the balls to actually go down a trail. Got stopped at the next water crossing but was really a blast testing the limits of the Delica
