HOW MUCH SHOULD I BUDGET FOR ADS

How much do I need to spend on paid ads to start getting results? This is one of the frequent questions business owners and marketers ask all the time.

The question becomes less important when the right funnel has been created…

The break-even funnel

This type of funnel ensures every dollar spent on ads comes back immediately. So every $1 they spend on ads turns into more dollars. If they have a funnel that is break-even or profitable, then they don’t have an advertising budget.

The goal is to spend as much money as you can to turn in more dollars.

Here is an example to illustrate how this works. We launched a $7 report with a front-end funnel. It had a $27 order form bump and a $97 “onetime offer”. We created an initial testing budget of $100 and launch Facebook ads. Within two days the $100 dollar budget was spent.

We then looked at the sales data to see if we had made at least $100. The $100 ads spend return with about 150 clicks, selling 10 reports ($5 x10 = $50), 3 people bought the order form bump ($27 x 3 = $81), and one person bought the $97 OTO. The total sales equaled $228. After

So we subtracted our $100 ad cost, we had made $128!

This result proves the funnel no longer has an advertising budget. We’ll keep running ads for as long as it stays profitable.

If we’d lost money at the testing stage, we would turn off the ads, rework the funnel, and then test again with another $100.

It never advisable to put much of your money at risk on an untested new funnel, always set a test budget and let the data from the test campaign determine what you do going further.

So you do rework for a funnel that flop and scale-up for the ones that work
