Social media is a world that’s alive and vibrant and unpredictable. But, it’s unpredictable only to a certain extent. Yes, we don’t know which new platform might pop up tomorrow and we don’t know which old platform will be hit by some new disastrous scandal. But, if we observe the trends closely (and we do), we can predict what is likely to happen in 2020.

*Marketers will turn to TikTok*

TikTok has been growing rapidly all around the globe and outside of it for the past couple of years. In fact, it’s been growing quicker than any other tool and downloaded more often than any other social media app. As of 2019, the app boasts 500 million active users worldwide and 1.5 billion downloads globally, which makes TikTok 9th in terms of social network sites.

TikTok started out as the platform for gen Z and 41% of TikTok user remain to be under 25. However, with this many users, it essentially covers all demographics.

The introduction of ads to the platform in 2019 means that the platform is ready to become the marketers’ favorite in 2020.

World Radio Day is observed on 13 February to remember the special power of Radio which brings people together and provides vital information. It touches the lives of people across the world.

It is a medium to raise awareness about the radio and to make networking stronger among the broadcasters. Radio is a century-old now but an important source of social interaction.

The theme of World Radio Day 2020 is “Radio and Diversity”. The theme focuses on diversity and plurilingualism. It is an important medium to celebrate humanity in all its diversity and provides a platform for democratic discourse.

The main purpose of celebrating World Radio Day is to spread awareness among the public and the media to raise the importance of radio. It also encourages decision-makers to establish and provide access to information through radio, enhance networking and generate a sort of international cooperation among the broadcasters.

Despite all the changes in the last decade in how people access music, AM/FM radio is still the most cost-effective advertising medium today. It's an inexpensive way to reach your existing and potential customers.

The term digital branding is often used, but what actually is ‘digital branding’?

Digital marketing has emerged as a specialism over the last decade with its origins rooted in direct marketing. The increase in the number of personal devices and their use means brand marketers have many more ways of communicating directly and interactively with their target consumers or customers. Given this, it's no surprise that branding concepts should be applied to digital media and technology to develop brands through interactions with consumers on their digital devices.

"Digital channels and assets are used to communicate a brand’s positioning (or purpose) as part of multichannel brand communication or engagement programs".

Digital Mink helps you create a proper digital branding strategy for your company which will further help your company to touch heights.

Republic day is one of the prominent national festival celebrated every year on January 26 with utmost enthusiasm and the zeal. This year India celebrates its 71st Republic Day.

It was on Republic Day the Indian Constitution came into force and the country was declared as the largest democracy in the world. After India gained Independence from the British rule on August 15, 1947, it was felt that there was a need for a written constitution to run the country systematically. After this, a committee was formed, which was headed by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar to draft the constitution. The first draft of the constitution was submitted on November 4, 1947, but it took exactly 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to finally adopt the Constitution with the necessary amendments. It was on November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India. However, it came into force on January 26, 1950. Since then India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 as
the constitution declares India a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring justice, equality, liberty and promoting fraternity to all its citizens.

Subhas Chandra Bose was born on January 23, 1987, in Odisha’s Cuttack to advocate Janakinath Bose. The freedom fighter, who completed his graduation from the University of Calcutta, ranked fourth in the ICS examination but stepped back as he did not want to work under the British government. He was also popularly addressed as Netaji and was elected as the President of the Indian National Congress twice.

Bose, who tried to rid India of British rule with the help of Germany and Japan during World War II, is believed to have been killed when his plane crashed near Taiwan.

As the country celebrates the loved freedom fighter’s 123rd birth anniversary, we take a look at these interesting facts about him:

Subhas Chandra Bose started the newspaper Swaraj after coming back to India and took charge of publicity for the Bengal Provincial Congress Committee.

It is said that the freedom fighter, who opposed Gandhi’s non-violent measures to deal with the British, had been imprisoned in 11 different jails between 1921 to 1941.

Apparently, Netaji had sought the help of Japan and Germany as both countries were against the Britishers. It is believed that he was ready to go to any extent for India’s freedom.

Netaji was instrumental in establishing Azad Hind Radio station in Germany and led the Indian nationalist movement in East Asia.

The Bhagavad Gita and the teachings of Swami Vivekananda on universalism were great inspirations for Netaji.

Famous quotes like "Give me blood and I will give you freedom", "Dilli Chalo" and "Jai Hind" can all be traced back to him.

Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949. The day is celebrated in the form of parades and other military shows in the national capital New Delhi as well as in all headquarters. On 15 January 2020, India celebrated its 72nd Indian Army Day in New Delhi. Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens.

Field Marshal Kodandera “Kipper” Madappa Cariappa OBE (28 January 1899 – 15 May 1993) was the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army and led the Indian forces on the Western Front during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1947.

Field Marshall K M Cariappa, During the 1965 war, his son KC Cariappa, an Indian Air Force pilot, was shot down over Pakistan Major Zaidia and taken as a prisoner of war.

On realizing the identity of the wounded soldier at Dargil, Pakistan’s Gen. Ayub Khan – who was junior to KM Cariappa before independence, contacted Field Marshal Cariappa, with information about his son’s safety.

When Gen. Khan offered to release his son immediately, Field Marshal is reported to have scoffed at the idea and told him to give his son no better treatment than any other Prisoner of War (POW). “He is my son no longer,” the old Soldier is reported to have thundered. “He is the child of this country, a soldier fighting for his motherland like a true patriot.

My many thanks for your kind gesture, but I request you to release all or release none. Give him no special treatment.”

A big salute to all the heroes of the Indian Armed forces, for their unyielding courage and all the sacrifices made to protect us, our army, our pride!

Digital marketing has changed the way the healthcare industry attempts to reach potential customers. There are three aspects to this: sales via e-commerce, dissemination of information, and social media influence. The third aspect, Nicholas Hall, Executive Chairman & Creative Solutions Director, Nicholas Hall Group of Companies explains, is the most difficult as it involves the art of persuasion and advertising.

Marketers should look at the healthcare brand’s business, understand their needs and the competitive market space they are in, and what drives the business.

SWAMI VIVEKANAND'S inspiring personality has been well known in India and abroad for the past many decades. This unknown monk of India suddenly rose to fame at the Parliament of Religions held in Chicago (America) in 1893, representing Hinduism. His vast knowledge of Eastern and Western culture as well as his deep spiritual insight, brilliant conversational skills, empathy and colorful personality made a mark on the hearts of many. People who happened to see or hear Swami Vivekanand even once still cherish his memory after a lapse of more than half a century.

Before leaving for abroad for the first time to preach Hinduism, Vivekanand's mother wanted to know whether he is all perfect for this mission or not, she invited him for dinner. Vivekanand enjoyed the food that had the additional flavor of his mother's special love and affection. After the delicious dinner, Vivekanand's mother offered Vivekanand a dish of fruits and a knife. Vivekanand cut the fruit, ate it and after that his mother said, "Son, can you please give me the knife, I need it." Vivekananda immediately responded by giving the knife.

Vivekanand's mother calmly said, "Son, you have passed my test and I heartily bless you for going abroad." Vivekanand surprisingly asked, "Mother, how did you test me? I didn't understand."

Mother replied, "Son, when I asked for the knife, I saw how you handed it to me, you gave the knife by holding its sharp edge and kept the wooden handle of knife towards me. This way, I would not get hurt when I take it and this means you took care of me. And this was your test in which you passed.

The person who thinks of others welfare rather than thinking about oneself has got the right of preaching the world and you have got that right. You have all my blessings."

This was the most important mark he left in the hearts of many he met in his lifetime - to think of others before thinking for oneself.

Moral: There are some qualities which draw the difference between a common man & an uncommon man. To think about the welfare of everyone falls under an extraordinary quality. The true noble person is the one who thinks of others' happiness even if it is in little matters to our day to day life. The one who thinks of himself alone is considered selfish & will not be valued by the world in the long run. It is the law of nature that as the bigger hearted & noble you become, the more you will keep receiving & as the narrower minded you become, the less you will receive.

On the Birth Anniversary Of Swami Vivekanand Let us pay tribute to his great Philosophies.

This , let us remember his message Youth Call for .

Wishing Happy Youth Day from the team of Digital Mink! ❤😇
