Thank you, TAF for being exemplary human beings and saving the animals who have suffered at the hands of the worst humans on earth. There is a special place for these people 😡
TAF has just taken in this dog that was beaten by three teenage boys on the southside of Chicago with a baseball bat. Luckily a mailman intervened and our friend Katie went to pick him up. He is in surgery and we will have more detailed information to follow. We have named him Holden... please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
HOLDEN UPDATE: Holden is out of surgery and is stable. At this point he is being monitored for any complications. As far as criminal charges, a police report has been filed. However, since the boys ran away before the police could arrive, they were not apprehended. The mailman did not know the boys and nobody in the neighborhood, where this abuse happened, has come forward with the boys' names. We will keep you posted if anything changes.
HOLDEN UPDATE 9/1/17:
TAF spoke with Holden's medical team and he is doing well. The pre-operative X-rays showed no signs of skull fractures. Holden will remain hospitalized for the next 24 hours to ensure he is stable and nothing develops...the risk with head trauma is that bleeding can develop within 48 hours. His medical team will continue to perform neurological exams and monitor his behavior. We will post if anything changes with his condition.
Please keep Holden in your thoughts and prayers.
