A draft US government list of 41 countries for possible travel restriction, categorized according to three levels of severity, has been circulating. If this travel ban is implemented, countries on the list would be subject to travel restrictions, including full visa suspensions for countries like Afghanistan, Iran, and Syria.

The United States government has yet to communicate with any of the countries concerned regarding this potential ban, nor has it addressed any of the concerns raised on the implications of this ban.

On Tuesday, February 26, 2026, Haiti’s first modern waste management site located in Limonad, in the North department, was inaugurated in a joint partnership between the cities of Okap, Katye Moren, and Limonad, in collaboration with several institutions including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the North (CCIN), the Unité Technique d'Exécution (UTE) and the Unité de Coordination de Projets (UCP) from the Haitian government.

The Biden Administration’s extension of Haiti’s Temporary Protected Status (TPS) has been rescinded by the Trump administration. The extension which would allow Haitians to remain for an additional 18 months will now end on August 3, 2025.
