Well this is an unexpected cover from The Pop Kids, who unashamedly transform all they hear into their own sound. A bold move to cover an anthem so closely linked to the time and its creator.
Bowie performed All The Young Dudes at his last gig in the UK at the Isle of Wight Festival and no doubt Neil & Chris will too. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, they’re headlining the festival and deservedly too.

Station to Station was released this week in 1976, which he toured round the world. During the tour, Angie was house hunting in Switzerland and whilst the tour was in LA, he packed up his rented house, ensuring that the spirits that inhabited the swimming pool remained, and took his things over to Europe.
Some songs from the album and others from the year the album was recorded.

Wonderful to see that Out On An Island IW wasn’t just a stand alone event, but has wonderful legs to keep it going, moving forward and growing. The history of the Isle of Wight is well documented but it had never included the lives of its LGBTQ folk until now. There is room on the bookshelves for everyone.

Best coffee in town.
An Andalusian Dog doesn’t have the same allure as a film title does it? Bowie opened up his 76 world tour with the film and with the staged bathed in white light it must’ve looked filmic.
Station To Station was released this week in 1976. Heat tracks from it from my original vinyl copy, plus tracks from 75, when the album was recorded including Kraftwerk, Nue! and lots more.

Red Funnel Isle of Wight Ferry’s support of a handful of individuals for PR purposes is great but at what cost to everyone else? Both ferry services have proven to operate with low regard for those that rely on their services the most. The lockdowns changed our travelling behaviour for sure, but neither of the ferry companies rushed to return to pre pandemic timetables, preferring to cut numbers of crossings and play around with cutting last services that prove to be unprofitable.
Both Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries and Red funnel must be operating with a service level agreement and our Bob Seely MP and his successors should he lose his seat at the next election, and Isle of Wight Council make this a priority, rather than faff about with the Chain link.
⭐️ PROUD TO SUPPORT... our 2024 Island Ambassadors & Supported Teams ⭐️
We’d like to introduce our Island Ambassadors and Supported Teams for 2024!
Through the Proud to Support initiative, we look to support talented Islanders across a wide range of fields, to help take their vocation to the next level - aiming for national, international, or even global status.
We're happy to retain many of our high performing Island Ambassadors and Teams on the roster for 2024, as well as adding several new faces. In total we'll be supporting 11 x Island Ambassadors, 6 x Junior Ambassadors and 9 x Supported Teams. Due to the high number of worthy applicants this year, we’ve also chosen to support 9 x additional applicants outside of the main scheme.
Throughout the year, we’ll update on the progress and accomplishments of all our talented Islanders, as they achieve greatness representing Red Funnel and the Isle of Wight at competitions, performances, and events nationally and internationally in 2024.
