Blogging to win new business!

OK... this isn't usually a workshop I promote - more of something I offer alongside my usual social media training or website services. However it would definitely help many businesses be found!

Lot's of people think blogging is a waste of time. I disagree. It forms a large part of my SEO strategy. To prove my point if you take the time to google any keywords that you might use to find a business that offers my services. You will notice I appear high up on the first page... this doesn't happen by accident and it's not magic - in fact it's easy to replicate in any business. Here are some example searches, or go ahead and make up your own.

Chris got in touch as he has recently decided to change career and retrain as a coach. Chris came to me as he wanted a website built that he could easily manage himself once the website was launched.

First things first, Chris had done his research and made a list of websites that he liked and of course websites he didn't like. This was a great conversation starter as it meant we were able to include and improve on the aspects of the websites that he liked, build on those ideas so they were bespoke to his business.

Chris was very keen for his website to have a very clean feel and as Chris is a huge fan of the outdoors and wanted to use the forest and nature as inspiration for his brand and colour pallette. The colours we chose reflect the autumn season and we've included lots of photos of nature to really pull the brand together.

If I could choose one thing I love about this site it is the page layout - I find the white space very calming and the use of the accent colours is perfect!

One of my clients is looking for a freelance virtual PA for 8-12 hours per week.

This person would need to be a highly organised and efficient PA and used to responding to a large volume of emails, complex diary management and invoicing. They would be dealing directly with clients and so a friendly and approachable manner with excellent written english is vital.

Ideally you would be based in Hampshire or Surrey for occasional face to face meetings.

Is anyone else just waiting for the garden to burst in to full summer bloom? Don't get me wrong I love spring flowers but they just make me feel impatient and ready for the summer! 🌸

In other news, it's another busy week at HSM HQ. Preparing two websites to be previewed, little bit of SEO work for an old client, chatting to and sorting my regular clients and I've booked in two training sessions.

Susan at Liss Barber Shop got in touch as she was looking for a simple one page website ready to open her doors this week after lockdown.

She wanted to keep the same logo and branding but with a fresh new look and clear instructions on the covid safety guidelines.😷

After doing some social media training with Shabs, the owner of Victorian Dreams, she asked me to build her a new ecommerce site. Her existing site was dated, didn't look great on mobile view and couldn't integrate with Facebook and Instagram shops.

We created a new brand style that is modern but still traditional and in keeping with her amazing business sourcing, restoring and selling antique beds and period furniture.

The thing I love most about Victorian Dreams is the option to have the bed finished in any colour or fabric - I LOVE interiors and bespoke design and so this is a dream client for me! ❤️

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? So, I have been rubbish recently at doing my own social media and haven't been sharing much of what I have been up to... clearly not practising what I preach..... .

I have been so very lucky to have been kept super busy by my fabulous clients all the way through the pandemic, managing their social media accounts and I am glad to say that they have all come out the other side with businesses that are thriving. Phew! 😀

I have also gathered new clients along the way for websites and social media training which has been amazing. Over the next couple of days I will share with you some of the websites I have worked on recently.... maybe. No, I actually will!! 🤣
