A good reminder for all of us. We can overcome and succeed at anything we put our minds to.

This is Jim Thorpe, the first Native American to win an Olympic gold medal for his country. Looking closely at this photo, you can see he wear different socks and shoes. Not because of his fashion sense. This photo was taken in 1912, when Jim, a Native American from Oklahoma, represented the United States in athletics at the Olympics that summer.
On the morning of the match, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim found two different shoes in a trash can. Those are the two shoes he is wearing in the photo. But one of those shoes was a little too big, so he had to put on a few more socks.
Wearing these clunky shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day. The person who stole the shoes must have not expected that instead of causing him to fail, they would bring him glory. This is a reminder to all of us that we can overcome any difficulty in life if we try.

PHOTO BOOK: The Kinzua Skywalk comes with significant history. It was once the tallest railroad structure at 2,053 feet long and 301 feet high until partially destroyed by a tornado in 2003. In 2011 it was reinvented and turned into a skywalk. Now, photographer Gladys Caroline invites you to see what was once known as Pennsylvania’s eighth wonder of the world through her eyes.

POEM: Some People

To some people I have to be the villain in their stories.

The way some people view me is so off-base. My characteristics and kindness are judged. My heart is hurt. My love is pure but some people don't see it quite that way.

In some people's narrative it's easy. I'm a bad person and the talk around town but to others I'm a lifeline, a best friend or even a Godsend.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some people see me as smart, intelligent, beautiful, loving and caring with a big personality but to some people my confidence, my opinion and my work ethic annoys them to their very core.

Some people think I'm rude and selfish because I speak with confidence and others respect the way I stand up for the children of the world and myself.

Some people view me as weak because I wear my heart on my sleeve, but they haven't seen what I have seen, they haven't heard what I have heard or they haven't been through what I have been through. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Some people judge me because I keep my guard up and I don't trust easy, but I need to protect myself. ⠀⠀⠀

Some people judge the way I take pride in my appearance and others think I'm conceited.

None of it has anything to do with me personally. It's all based off biased opinions of some people who freely choose to judge me on my beliefs, my opinion, my confidence, my appearance, my experiences and my achievements.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The reality is some people have no idea who I truly am. They can't ever just once give me credit or let me be the hero in the story.

What some people have to understand is they have absolutely no authority over me or they way other people view me.

Some people try to manipulate YOU to control YOU in the way YOU see ME. This is done as a tactic to take focus off their deceitful behavior and ugly ways to control YOU. It's a control tactic. They want YOU to see ME through THEIR eyes. Why? It's all about them. It has nothing to do with YOU or ME... It's all about, some people.

Did Bon Scott Know?
I was 10 years old when 33-year-old Bon Scott lost his life in 1980. After years of heavy partying, ci******es, and bar life it was easy to predict Bon Scott would die young, but did Bon himself have a premonition he would die young? Did he know something the rest of the world didn't know, and did he hand-pick his replacement?
