Ice Cream Interruption:

I'm not an ice cream person. Never have been. But twice now, this frozen treat has hijacked my sleep and sanity. The first time, it hit me in Abuja in the dead of night.So sudden and intense I questioned my own tastebuds. "Ice cream? As how?" I thought, sleep banished. It felt like aliens had implanted a sugar fiend in my brain. Where is this coming from ? I wondered in my head

It wasn't just a "hmm, maybe a scoop" kind of thing. This was a primal desire, the kind that makes you lick freezer walls in desperation. Sleep became an Olympic hurdle, every toss and turn punctuated by visions of creamy swirls and crunchy cones. I wanted ice cream immediately.

Daybreak couldn't come fast enough. By the time HMedix opened its doors, I was a rabid ice cream zombie. One cup didn't stand a chance. Two hours later, I was back, eyes glazed over, begging for the biggest bowl they had. It vanished in a flurry of spoons and sighs. Only sheer willpower, bordering on a superhero landing, kept me from repeating the cycle. I had to stop myself

Something was clearly wrong. I called a friend who was a doctor, convinced I'd contracted a rare strain of dessert delirium. 🙄🙄🙄 The verdict? My body, apparently, is a sneaky nutritional detective. He explained: our bodies crave certain foods for a reason, often mineral deficiencies whispering their needs. In my case, he suspected an iron deficiency

Two days ago, the ice cream siren song returned, and once more, I succumbed to a large bowl. If not for these strange cravings, I swear,ice cream aversion is my superpower. But for now, it seems even the most resolute non-fan can be swept away by a scoop-induced mystery.
