Cross Cultural Business Skills - Minor 2014 This minor aims to introduce participants to the field of intercultural studies. People attend international conferences and others study abroad.

"The skies nowadays are full of airplanes carrying professionals, travelling to do business abroad. And because the global economy has become so interconnected, culture has become much more important. As a consequence students need to be able to communicate effectively in cross-cultural settings or build trust with culturally diverse partners. They also will need to be given the opportunity to exa

mine their cultural preferences and those of other world economies, arriving at a better cross cultural awareness in the global marketplace. By understanding the challenges facing international contact, we can improve our own results. This course helps to overcome the obstacles of professional international communication, by giving participants the fundamentals, and offering them the management models and a methodology. This minor aims to introduce participants to the field of intercultural studies, both in pragmatic terms (cross-cultural communication training) and in terms of the study of key issues in intercultural contact with selected contemporary (trade) cultures."
