Imam Ali's Last Words To Prophet Muhammad - Imam Ali's Shahadat

Amir ul-Mu'mineen comes to the Prophet: "you mentioned things that we should do in the month of RAMADAN, good things, righteous acts, but I do not only want to know what is good. I want to know what is best. What is the best thing to do in the month of RAMADAN?" The best thing that you can do, what is better than Jawshan al-Kabir or du'a [Kumayl]. What is better than all of this is to avoid the Muharramat, avoid sin. As the Prophet is saying this, Rasul Allah begins to cry.

Why are you crying? Rasul Allah says, Oh Ali, I cry for what will happen to you in this month. I can see you now. Oh Ali, praying to your Lord, and the most wicked of all men will attack you and assault you.

Imagine Amir ul-Mu'mineen at the age of 23, if someone were to tell you, brothers and sisters, that one day someone will assassinate you. What would you ask? You will say, well, who is it? What is his name? Will I be badly injured? Will it be painful? Will I survive?

The Imam "alayhi as-salam says "Ya Rasul Allah, wa dhalika fi salamatin min deeni?" Ya Rasul Allah, will my iman be intact? Rasul Allah says, "Na'am, wa dhalika fi salamatin min deenik." Oh Ali, your Iman [faith] will be intact. Even Rasul Allah cried to what happened to Ali on a night like this.
