Dear Friends, Colleagues and Family, Last week Monday was my birthday, and what did I do? I woke up (so many other people did not and I thank God or life).

I played for a funeral, had a finance meeting for Ottley Music School, and taught 5 wonderful students at (OMS).

I thank you all for your birthday greetings. I had not been on facebook, and just realized the wonderful outreach to me on my birthday last week.

As for Black Composers of "classical" music, I discover more every week, and many of you share with me your discoveries. I thank you.

And musicians, check out your own genealogy. You will be amazed at who you find in your tree. 2 parents, plus 4 grand parents, plus 8 great-grand parents, plus 16 great grand parents equals 30 people made you up in about 100 years. Go up the next 100 years equals up to another 900 people who made you up. It is fun finding up who is in your family tree.

Black Pianists of Classical Music born between 1838 and 1933 has finally been released. GET YOURS TODAY. It is the stories of 10 Black girls and 12 Black boys who started out with wonderful childhood stories and became famous pianists, some of them composers. These stories are for all ages, elementary, middle and high school students, with references, discographies, bibliography and links to their music. The purpose of these books and others in Classics of Ebony is to educate every one of the great significance of the contributions of Black people to the field of classical music (versus popular music), exposing the magnitude of the status of music composed, arranged, directed and performed by Black people from around the world, in all time periods, including during slavery—Blacks whose published works exist and are being performed, or were destroyed or lost, but we know of them through music critics of the newspapers of yesteryear.
