VietFood & Beverage – ProPack expo in Hanoi is showcasing the very best food and drinks. Featuring hundreds of products from nuts and tea to ginseng and liquor, it is a chance for visitors to choose from a great deal of products, while businesses can seek new trade opportunities and partners. The event will last until Saturday this week.
Petrol problem
Petrol supply problems nationwide have seen many forecourts close and huge queues form around those that are still open. A lot of motorists are exasperated at the situation, while others have accepted that there is nothing they can do.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has said they will inspect stations that have closed and strictly deal with violations.

A school in Hanoi has come up with an idea to help disadvantaged students. They have created a 'zero dong' store where pupils can donate uniforms which are washed, ironed and given away to their classmates free of charge.
Turning over a new leaf
Two travel lovers, Đặng Đức Tuấn (aka Han Vietnam) and Võ Minh Tân (aka Hý Du Ký), made a four-month journey cross country to plant trees in all 63 provinces and cities in Việt Nam. They hope those green sprouts will help environmental tourism take root across the country. Their group A little Vietnam helps spread the message of environmental protection to the public.

One insect-lover in Hanoi is Vietnam’s answer to Ant Man. He keeps hundreds at his home in specially-made colonies. You may not be able to take these pets for a walk, but Bui Ngoc Cuong says watching them work is enthralling.
Helping hands
It’s typhoon season in Việt Nam again! ⛈
Local people in many parts of the central province of Thanh Hoá are battling with the aftermath of Typhoon Noru, the fourth of its kind this year, and flooding that inundated thousands of hectares of rice and other crops. The risk of diseases after a natural disaster is also high.
Local authorities have mobilised youth volunteers to help farmers harvest rice, and clean up the environment while making sure health workers are in place to cope with potential diseases.
A Glass Act

In the southern province of Sóc Trăng’s Phú Tân Commune, local residents have painted beautiful images on glass panes for decades.
Once a very popular folk painting style that can be seen in many Khmer families across the Mekong region, it is now on the verge of fading away.
