I guess this not so easy listening for some but...
Originally starting with a sample from The Jam’s 1977 hit 'This is the Modern World'. I started adding AI text to speech parts, then sampled Amica – one of the Android stars of 2024. The intensity of the Ai speeches drove me to the feedback of Jimi Hendrix, and the curiosity of human vs AI imagination. What next?

Today is a hundred years since the shipping forecast began on BBC Radio - We live +7/8 hours ahead of the UK and I love waking up for morning coffee - with the midnight shipping forecast. I made this tune last year - might sooth a few heads today -

REVIEWS - massive thanks to all those who have bought copies of CALLING CROWS - the gratitude is truly global.
Hopefully Not too upmeself - but not sure if there are that many who took on documenting the 80/90/ travellers/squatters/activists and party people into written word. There are a few - but online words (like reviews) help cement them into the future.
It really does take a couple of years to write a book, blag a load of favours from blurb writers to proofreaders etc.
I'm still a stickler for CULT CLAssiCS and not using AMAZON - so REVIEWS MATTER and they're a bit of a pain in d arse.

Let me introduce the release of ÔNG T​Â​Y - my latest collection:

This new album was made in the commune of Tiền Tiến in the North of Vietnam and mastered at Studio2m, Hanoi with Nguyễn Nhật Minh

I have called it ÔNG TÂY – this Viet phrase simply means "Mr. Western Foreigner". I recently moved to this commune in the spring of 2024. I walked my dogs as gangs of kids circled us and called out this name. It’s super friendly and stays with me.

Living in a rural commune with daily observations of culture that have lasted for centuries, some days, I feel like I could be living in the Middle Ages. Meanwhile, I spend a lot of my time marvelling and wondering about future tech, and these thoughts you might hear in ÔNG TÂY.

I have been working with the features of Bandcamp - which -like an old LP allows for sleeve notes - but for each track and with an image. You can either enjoy the piece all the way through - then listen track-by-track and after select each track for a load of rant and ramble about sound source and inspiration.

I hope you enjoy

Thang Long Records launched on the Tet Lunar New Year...about ten months ago.

We did a show with the special crew Puzzle Ha Noi.

From 4.30pm- 12pm we solidly played original material out on our label.

Chuffed and grateful.
