This is an American Sheraton chest circa early 19th century [1820-1840]. It is constructed from solid cherry with a warm, burnished tone with honest oxidation and patina that only time can accomplish. Cherry wood naturally darkens over time through UV exposure and will continue to develop a deeper, darker, and richer color.

It features four drawers with hand-cut dovetail joinery. They have classic oval brass pulls with centered decorative keyhole escutcheons. It sits on beautiful bracket feet.

All drawer stops have been repaired or replaced. Drawer stops must be appropriately sized and placed to prevent drawers from sticking out too far or tipping backwards. The bottom drawer was re-planed flat, so that it would slide without rubbing or sticking. The drawers were showing signs of deterioration with the drawer bottoms cracking and shrinking, causing them to be loose. All of these repairs have been made.

The drawers were very dry, so they have now been rehydrated. The drawer runners were severely worn after 200 years of use, so we removed them, flipped them over, and reinstalled them, giving them a new flat surface to glide on. The screws holding the top on had also become loose, so thicker screws from the same time period were used to secure it. Finally, a 2” portion of the back left leg was missing, so a new piece of wood was added and then color matched so that it blends seamlessly into the body.

This is a restoration where the story is honored, and the history preserved. Repairs were made carefully. Thoughtfully.

This one holds a quiet elegance. One that feels sophisticated, yet refined, in both a modern or historic home setting.

It’s sturdy, stable, and wonderfully dependable. It’s a piece that will easily last another 200 years.

Our Etsy has been poppin’ off heading into the weekend 😍

It is never lost on us that there are many, many ways to acquire antiques… and that by you choosing our teeny microscopic business is quite literally life changing for our family 🩷

We are just a husband and wife; raising a brilliant (and sassy) pre-teen, working day and night to bring these restorations to you!

We were quite tired of trying to find pieces for ourselves at antique stores, and finding that most of them in our area needed lots of work. Drawers would stick. Cabinets wouldn’t close. They seemed to always be filthy, too.

We started The Packard Co before we even knew what it would actually BE. We were learning as we went — making repairs so that antiques would be functional in our own home. And then that kinda snowballed into doing it for other people… and then eventually it became a carefully curated collection of pieces we truly love and would keep if we had an 8 million square foot house 😂

We genuinely love this work. It is our passion. Thank you endlessly for showing your love and support. Not only through purchasing — but the little acts of kindness in your encouraging words, engagement, shares, and referrals. We see you and we appreciate you SO MUCH!

Now for a post of our remaining inventory! We are offering free delivery for anything over $500 within 40 miles of Yukon, OK.

Another extreme before and after!

Many of our pieces present challenges, but overcoming them is what makes the outcome so rewarding.

This turquoise chalk painted table wasn’t much to look at to begin with, but when we pulled the drawer out, we saw the Knapp joints and knew it was old. Like 1870 old.

So we brought it home and got to stripping the paint off. Solid walnut. Gorgeous.

Downside? At some point, someone had made a hideous repair and replaced the top that likely had a leather or marble inlay with a *gasp* … laminate tile. Like what you would use on a floor.

We obviously had to pivot our plans, as the top was not going to be usable. At least, not in a way that would be up to our standards.

After some brainstorming, we landed on just removing the top completely and replacing it with a beautiful slab of white marble with gray veining. Elevated and elegant, but also functional. Marble is a natural durable stone that will age and patina beautifully over time.

This piece would make an incredible nightstand or accent table. It’s currently still available for $600. Delivery can be added for a fee.

This is such a sweet antique side table! It is built from solid walnut and built between 1870-1890 as evidenced by the adorable Knapp joints on the sides of the drawer.

It features slender turned tapered legs, a singular drawer with brass k***s, and a white marble top with neutral gray veining.

It is elevated, but still retains the classic charm of an early American piece.

The drawer slides easily and sits flush as it should. It has been repaired so that it is solid and stable, ready for everyday use.

This piece slips effortlessly into a modern, traditional, or collected space. It feels warm and inviting; where a book can rest mid-chapter.

[Side note: When we got this table, it was covered in sloppily painted turquoise chalk paint. When we stripped that off, we discovered it had a horrendous laminate top; an obvious replacement during its long life. We had to pivot our plans and come up with a solution that felt correct. We decided to completely remove the top and sourced a beautiful slab of authentic marble for it instead. We are not just finding and selling. We are repairing, restoring, and curating for a collection that feels cohesive and timeless. We are so proud of how it looks now! Check out our stories to see a before and after!]

It’s wild to us that when we got it, it was painted from top to bottom with turquoise chalk paint 😳 IT IS SOLID WALNUT! Stripped it down, gave it a new finish, and replaced the top (it was not original anyway) with an authentic slab of marble. Now it’s the PERFECT bedside table!

Here’s a super sweet late Victorian mirror built from solid oak. It dates back to 1880 when the Rococo Revival era was in full bloom.

It has a romantic aesthetic with its rich wood tone and intricate hand carved crest.

It was once a tri-fold mirror, but now acts as a stand alone mirror. It has a flat bottom, making it a lovely piece to lean on a mantle, nightstand, or foyer table, and layer with collected decor.

*Mirror surface has light patina as to be expected from a 140 year old piece, however, it still reflects clearly, and is in usable condition.

Looking for a cabinet for some extra storage? We currently have TWO!

1. Solid oak and pine primitive punched tin cabinet. Hand-built in the late 1800s and impeccable quality. Elevated rustic/farmhouse vibes. It doesn’t just look beautiful, it works correctly. The cabinets open and close easily and stay in place, and the drawer slides like it should. These are not your typical antique store find and sell items that are often sold dirty, mildew-y, smoke-y, or broken. We have high standards when making our selections, and we meticulously work on them so that they are both functional and stunning in your space!
📏 64” tall x 40” wide x 19.5” deep
🏷️ Price: $1350 with free delivery within 45 miles of Yukon, OK.

2. Solid walnut early American jelly cupboard. It was also hand-built between 1870 and 1890. It has a substantial and almost whimsical presence in a space due to its scalloped backsplash, double dovetailed drawers, and wide cabinet. Drawers open and close easily and the cabinet doors swing perfectly on a hinge; staying securely in place when closed. This style will blend beautifully in a European, French cottage, or Victorian styled home.

My favorite thing about this piece aside from everything, is that neat little pull that twists side to side to engage a hidden lock. It feels like a little secret that only we know 🤫

[SOLD]

This is a late 19th century English bedside cupboard crafted from solid pine.

Its narrow profile, simplistic design, and versatility, make it a great option for beside a bed or sofa, or in bathroom nook. Conceal linens and personal items with this collected piece.

It features a single door with a soft molded field panel; a classic English Provincial construction detail. The original brass latch hardware is in tact. Turn the pull from side to side to engage the lock; a sweet design element that almost feels like a well-kept secret. There is a single fixed shelf inside that divides the interior into two.

When we got this piece, it had been painted many colors over its lifetime. At one point, it was painted to resemble the American flag. After carefully removing the paint as to not disturb its well earned patina, we finished it using a warm, light brown wax. The patina is honest with small marks and imperfections that are both authentic and lovely.

This is a really neat small cupboard that is ready for its next chapter.
