Stryn river is located in Nordfjord near Loen.

It takes about 7 hours by car(non-stop) from Oslo through E6 and breathtaking mountains, valleys and lakes.

And, about 5 hours(non-stop) from Bergen. And, Jostedalsbreen (glacier) is also near by.

Sognefjord (Visit Sognefjord) takes about 3 hours drive from Stryn.

Loen Skylift and Via Ferrata Loen are just 15 mins drive from Stryn

When you reach the summit and you’re treated with 360deg views - just part and parcel.

- A rib cage of the glacier

- A silty basin at the base of the icefield which is the source of Yoho’s spectacular Takakkaw Falls.

- A glimpse of Emerald Lake from the distance

- Endless mountain views

- Daly Glacier

One of the most memorable hikes we’ve done last summer. Definitely the longest as well ( route finding, scrambling involved). We got home late (1am), too tired to eat dinner but it was worth it.

Of rivers and lakes - Spring delights in Jasper.

Every Spring (usually around mid May) we always make a drive to Jasper NP. Since it’s a bit far from Calgary, we always stay there for the weekend.

I love visiting my favourite spots. Each season is never the same and it’s always refreshing to see the landscape being reborn again.

Hearing the roaring of the waterfalls flowing in the rivers, seeing the emerald green/turquoise color of the water, wildlife grazing, flowers starting to bloom, birds are chirping, people canoeing or hiking.

A season when everything comes to life. Ahhh..the promise of Spring!

To sit in the shade on a fine day and look upon the turquoise lake is the most perfect refreshment for me.

This lake is one of the gems in Jasper National Park. It’s a short hike & you get to see five different lakes with different hues of blues & greens.

Five different lakes with varying colours aptly named Valley of the Five Lakes.

This is a short & easy hike in Jasper, Alberta. Perfect for families and your fur babies.

Spring season is the best time to hike as it’s less crowded. And with Spring comes ticks🥴.

🧐 Good to know
✔️ Long loop - 9km & around 3 hours hiking time
✔️ Short loop - 5km & around 2 hours hiking time

1) It’s a popular trail so get there early to get a parking spot.
2) Spring ( May ) is the best time to hike when the lakes are thawed and less crowded.
3) Watch out for ticks!

A beautiful part of Kaaimans River in Western Cape, South Africa.

This part of the waterbody's colour is due to minerals in the water flowing through the rocks.

The water is crystal clear and harmless.

It straight out into the Indian Ocean.

How is everyone enjoying their Easter weekend?
I hope you’re having a relaxing one.

I have so many stories to tell about this national park in the Canadian Rockies - one of our favourites.

But that can wait as I still have to finish our Icefields Parkway roadtrip.😄

After that, I’ll tag you along with me on our road trip to Kootenay NP.

For now, I’m sharing this gem with you. The first glacial water after a long winter hibernation.

Just around the riverbend you will see one of the most turquoise rivers.

It was so tempting to jump in.🥶

The Kootenay River flows from BC down through Idaho & Montana, before flowing back north into BC again.
