Double tap if you did your back-to-school shopping at Maurice the Pants Man!

Maurice J. Ravelson founded his retail clothing store in Worcester in 1923, located on Millbury and Lamartine streets. He was in business for more than sixty years. “Maurice the Pants Man,” as he was known, grew the business from a small storefront to triple the size plus branch stores.

At his death in 1985 his store was one of the largest-volume sellers of denim pants in Central Massachusetts, selling more than $2 million in merchandise annually. He believed the key to his success was old-fashioned service, lower prices, all-out advertising, and low overhead.
