This Is Me
Hey everyone, I figured I'd share my background with my new (and not so new) followers. I started using a camera in highschool after signing up to take a photo class. Little did I know it would completely change my trajectory in life. Before using a camera, I wanted to do something in the music industry. After getting exposed to cameras and Photoshop that changed. My passion for cameras (and all of technology really) quickly led me to video. I soon shot my first YouTube video and thought I would be a star. 480p and a point and shoot camera wouldn't cut it though. The best I could do was 10,000 views(now almost 20k) on a video about my Sidekick phone. (Remember those?) I began now looking for colleges with photo and video programs, as well as marching band, since I didn't want to leave music behind. After touring almost 10 colleges, I found my home at @northern_iowa.
They say college is the best years of your life, and they are right. The friends, networking and projects would shape my creativity in ways I couldn't imagine. Travelling with the marching band to London and Rome, the countless projects and shoots and a little fun in between are just some of the things that shaped me into the person I am today. Before I knew it, it was May 2017 and I was walking across the stage at commencement. After graduating, I moved back home and dove head first into all things creative in the Minneapolis/St Paul area. The networking and hustle I put in the first couple of months would later lead me to my current job at RoofingBrand, a marketing agency dedicated to roofing contractors. I do weddings on the weekends, as well as person projects whenever possible. The local creative community here is unmatched and my goal is to move to Minneapolis (sooner or later) to fully embrace the creativity here. Long term, I think LA (or New York) could be where I want to be, using a camera to capture whatever life puts in front of me.
