Excited to find out that another of Calico Bonnet Productions's shorts (This one a co-production with the Italian company Stolen Films) "Akrasia" written & directed by Raffael Fiano. This was the first time I shot a film or video as a Director of Photography for someone other than Carissa Joines or I. It's been a great experience and a dream of mine to work on a film with Italian filmmakers. Can't wait for American festival audiences to get a look next year when "Akrasia" plays here and in Europe.

Happy Pride! Carissa Joines and I are proud to announce that our short film, (written by the incredible Randy Gillis ) has been accepted to the 2024 OUTSOUTH Q***r Film Festival to be held in Durham, NC August 8-11 (films will rescreen Aug. 12-16). This is the festival we made the film for and we are beyond thrilled to introduce audiences to Millie & Tilly. In honor of Pride 2024 Calico Bonnet is releasing a feature length conversation with drag artist/activist Naomi Dix for an in-depth discussion of issues surrounding drag, trans youth, found family and the organized, vitriolic pushback in America against the LGBTQ+ community's civil rights and very existence. Naomi tells the first hand story of being on stage at the Sunrise Theater on December 3rd 2022 when a terrorist attack in Moore County that left 40,000 people without power for days, resulted in several deaths and made international headlines. This is a unique opportunity to listen and learn and Calico Bonnet is thrilled to bring it to you now. Happy Pride!

Friends and Neighbors. Quick reminder that tomorrow, April 25 we are releasing "Life in the Sacrifice Zone" a documentary feature about a community of color in Stokes County, NC that stood up against Duke Energy and won. Besides chronicling this important story, this film is a love letter of sorts to Stokes County, a place I have a long and complicated relationship with. Here is the final trailer.
