11th Annual ZOMBIE WALK & PROM 2021

GET READY ZOMBIES!!!! We had all hoped all was well…. apparently, we were DEAD wrong. The undead of Fayetteville are coming back to celebrate the 11th Annual ZOMBIE WALK & PROM on Friday, October 22 from 6pm-10pm. This is a free undead family-friendly event. Come to downtown Fayetteville in all your ZOMBIE.
What’s a ZOMBIE Walk? A ZOMBIE Walk is an organized (as organized as zombies can be) public gathering of people dressed in ZOMBIE costumes (we hope these are only costumes). Traditionally, ZOMBIES gather to walk in processional format. However, in 2021 the procession has been cancelled and ZOMBIES are invited to rove the downtown streets, through public spaces – arms extended and all.

There’s a little undead in all of us, so bring out your best ZOMBIE and join the local undead in downtown Fayetteville. The infestation (gathering) starts at 6pm. The Prom (Costume Competition) starts at 6:45 on the District Vibe stage along Maxwell Street. The Feeding (LIVE MUSIC FROM THE GUY UNGER BAND) starting shortly after. Makeup artists will be on hand during the event to help bring out the undead for a monetary fee or arrive already in character using your own creativity. Additionally, one of the original founders of the undeadly gathering, Christina E. Cole, will return to Fayetteville for a book signing at Back-A-Round Records. "Abandoned North Carolina: Mouth of the Holler”, Christina’s most recent work, takes you on an introspective look at North Carolina's past and abandoned architecture with angsty mystery, fulfilling fear and unbridled truth. Meet Christina and learn more about her work here.

ZOMBIE Walk and Prom is organized by the Cool Spring Downtown District, Back-A-Round Records, Awesome Tattoos and sponsored by the City of Fayetteville, Healy Wholesale and T-Mobile.

Schedule (Subject to change):

- 6:00 PM: The ZOMBIE Awakening (event starts)

- 6:00 – 7:30 PM: Abandoned North Carolina: Mouth of the Holler Book signing by Christina E. Cole at Back-Around Records (1-Market Square)

- 6:00 PM: The ZOMBIE Feeding (LIVE MUSIC FROM THE GUY UNGER BAND BEGINS) on the District Vibe stage along Maxwell Street

- 6:45 PM: The ZOMBIE Prom (Costume Competition on the District Vibe Stage Maxwell Street)

- 7:00 – 10:00 PM: The ZOMBIE Feeding continues with THE GUY UNGER BANDS

During the event many of our downtown businesses will be open. Remember to shop, eat, and support the locals while you are downtown.

- Prizes:
o Third Place: Goody bag from a downtown business
