Linda Li ’24 is the co-EIC of FH Mag. A junior majoring in government, she’s buckling under the pressure to be a consultant. This summer, she moved her over-scrolling habit from IG to Twitter—like a True Journalist™️. Soon, she’ll be abandoning Ellie to study in Japan for a semester, representing a culmination of her love for city pop, sushi, and smart toilets.

Livia Martinez is the Digital Director of the Flat Hat Magazine! She is a Communications and Digital Media Management student from Frisco, TX. It’s a long story as to why she ended up at W&M and she has told it far too many times, but just know, that she loves it & can’t wait to be back for her sophomore semester! She also loves all things film! She has a podcast with her parents called Strangelove of Movies where they discuss a current or old film weekly! Livia believes a movie a day keeps the bad days away! She can’t wait to get to work with the Flat Hat Mag team soon!

Georgia Thoms’ 23 is the Editor At Large for the FH Mag and designated grandma. After going to Italy to study abroad (like everyone and their mom recently), she can confidently face the ‘Burg’s summer heat. Between her coffee runs at Aroma’s, catch her herding the CW sheep, leash-training her cat, and furiously scrolling through crotchet Instagram reels.

Her toxic traits include hating boba (she extends an apology to her ancestors), thinking she’s better than everyone because she’s not in STEM (she makes no apologies for this one), and raging about how much she hates men yet dating one. She sends peace and love always 🤭✨💖

Rebecca Altman ‘25 is 1/2 of the Copy Chief team for the FH Magazine. She’s self-designing an Urban Studies major to firmly entrench herself in the social sciences (and because just being a Government girly is too boring). She can normally be found on campus with a caffeinated beverage in hand and a NYT game on her computer.

Ellie Kurlander ‘24 is ecstatic to be the current Editor-in-Chief of FH Mag. In her spare time you can find Ellie painting stick figures in Andrews Hall, kidnapping her roommate’s cat, or rewatching Fleabag for the 28th time to feel something…anything.

When she’s not working or Flat Hat-ing, you can probably find Chief of Staff JR Herman ‘24 engaged in some twampy activity like recreationally deciphering Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, jamming out to French bops, or sending someone the “How would a centaur wear pants” meme. What a nerd. Feel free to reach out to her to talk about anything related to Flat Hat Magazine, the ancient world, what JR stands for, favorite literary classics, overly dramatic eyeliner ideas (she is self-aware), or some other quirky and niche topic! :)

In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar with her band of fellow Beatlemaniacs, dancing like a fool, and writing long sentences with entirely too many commas, apparently.
