I've started to enjoy trying interesting sandwiches on the rare occasion we eat out. This is a fried chicken sandwich at Hops at 84 East restaurant in Holland, Michigan. It was as good as it looks! The steak fries were pretty good, too.

Boondocking and being homeless may share similarities, such as living without typical amenities, but they differ in purpose, choice, and circumstances.

1. Choice and Lifestyle:
• Boondocking is a choice made by travelers, campers, or RV enthusiasts who intentionally camp in remote, undeveloped areas to enjoy nature, save money, or embrace an off-grid lifestyle.
• Homelessness often lacks choice and is a result of socioeconomic hardships. It’s typically not about enjoying nature or traveling but about necessity due to a lack of stable, permanent shelter.

2. Preparation and Equipment:
• Boondockers usually come prepared with RVs, vans, or vehicles equipped with essentials like solar panels, water storage, and portable generators to make off-grid living comfortable and sustainable.
• Homeless individuals, in many cases, don’t have such resources, making it difficult to live comfortably or securely.

3. Duration and Intent:
• Boondocking is usually a temporary way of living, and many RVers move from one location to another or eventually return to permanent homes.
• Homelessness often lacks clear duration and stability, with people living without homes indefinitely until they find more permanent housing.

4. Access to Resources:
• Boondockers often have access to support networks, social media groups, and specialized apps for finding safe camping locations.
• Homeless individuals often have fewer resources and may rely on shelters, public spaces, or assistance programs for basic needs.

In summary, boondocking is an intentional, often temporary lifestyle choice, while homelessness is typically a challenging situation resulting from lack of stable housing.

First time seeing the Tetons with snow! WOWZERS!

Last time we were here was in the fall of 2021. It was a very dry year with bad forest fires that filled the sky with smoke.

What a blessing to come back and see these majestic mountains with a crystal clear sky!

We love our fulltime RV life! It gives us such freedom!

Fulltime RV Living Boondocking - Yesterday vs today. Sometimes ya just gotta be in town!

Last big town w a Walmart before heading to Yellowstone … stocking up on dry goods. So excited to see the parts of the park that were closed when we were there in 2021. But the main reason we are going - friends we met at the 2021 Sugar Beet Harvest and haven’t seen for 2 years! The kids are ECSTATIC that we could make this happen!

We are a family of 4 who has been living fulltime in our RV - mostly off-grid - since 2019 & still loving it!

Northern Lights - They really don’t know. Don’t believe anyone that says they do. It’s a “wait and see” game.
