Jan and Dale Foster's six-year-old son, Cody, begins conversing with an unsettling imaginary playmate he calls "Man." At first, they dismiss it as a harmless phase, but as weeks pass, Cody's behavior takes a sinister turn. His violent outbursts and chilling remarks lead Jan to suspect that "Man" is no ordinary imaginary friend but something far more malevolent. Desperate to save her family, Jan seeks the help of a Native American shaman to cleanse their home of the dark presence. Though the ritual appears successful, their relief is short-lived. Three months later, Cody's demeanor shifts again, plunging the family into a new level of terror as the true nature of "Man" begins to reveal itself.

The Black Monk of Pontefract haunting at 30 East Drive, in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, is one of the most famous and chilling hauntings in England. The haunting is centered on the supposed ghost of a 16th-century monk, believed to have been executed for heinous crimes. Locals later nicknamed this spirit "The Black Monk" due to its dark robes and sinister reputation.
The haunting started in the 1960s, after the Pritchard family moved into 30 East Drive. They soon experienced strange occurrences, such as lights turning on and off, strange cold gusts, and objects moving on their own. The activity escalated with increasingly violent poltergeist behavior, from loud bangs and the spilling of powders and liquids to unseen forces allegedly pulling, scratching, and even choking family members. The family reported seeing a tall, dark figure with a monk-like appearance, whom they believed was responsible.
Since then, 30 East Drive has attracted many paranormal investigators and ghost hunters, with reports of disturbing occurrences continuing. It remains one of the most visited haunted sites in the UK, feeding ongoing fascination with its dark past and eerie phenomena.
