Rain chances this week are slim , possibly Friday afternoon is our next chance. You could say we have entered the “ dry “ season . Temps hold in the 70s through Wednesday while surging Thursday into the mid 80s and possibly to 90 Friday . The weekend again features pleasant weather behind the front on Friday with yet again low dew points and a northerly breeze. Next week still looks to feature our first official heat wave .

Appears as if a weak line of showers will work its way through the area around 1030-11 . Nothing of concern .

Weekend forecast :
Saturday will be a 4 star day !
Morning temps in the low to mid 50s and sunny . Dew points all day on the low side in the 50s and temps topping out in the mid 70s. Not a drop of rain to be had.
Sunday however will feature rising dew points as a warm front passes through sparking showers and eventually a scattered thunder boomer or 2 in the early afternoon . Once that passes humidity will drop off and we should see some clearing as well. Highs Sunday again in the 70s . Only 2 weeks until the days begin getting shorter !!

A second similar cell appears to be running along the Northern areas in Northampton County . Areas right through the slate belt .

Small thunderstorm cell about to move through southern sections of the Lehigh Valley . Allentown , Bethlehem and Easton all look to be in line over the next 20-30 minutes .

The front is just to the west of the Lehigh Valley , places like Kutztown and Fleetwood.

The front is moving into the Harrisburg area which leaves us with roughly 3 -4 hours until it gets here.

The timing of the fronts arrival will be closer to 9 , between 9 tonight and 3 am Thursday, expect storms to rumble through our area. Expect .25” to .5” amounts with higher amounts possible.

Later tonight around 8 a line of storms is shaping up to pass through the region. Some localized down pours are possible with some minor flooding.
Another round will pass through around midnight as well.

Updated weekend forecast , Saturday will be very nice but Sunday may turn out a little wet , especially from noon on.

Today - partly cloudy , possible showers late evening , widely scattered
Wednesday - dry early with rain showers breaking out around 4 . Highs in the low 70s
Thursday - could start off a little wet but should clear up . Highs again in the low 70s
Friday - the best overall day of the week , no rain to worry about , no freaking tornados or storms of any kind. Highs in the upper 60s and dew points in the 40s , just a great day weather wise !
The weekend - Saturday looks clear and perhaps the first in awhile with no rain. Temps in the mid and upper 70s with dew points staying favorable. Sunday at this time also looks to stay dry , temps will be in the upper 70s , dew points will rise somewhat but still shouldn’t be all that bad.
Overall a drier pattern this week .
