District Attorney Erik Johnson Commends Successful Joint Operation in Wetumka, Oklahoma

District Attorney Erik Johnson commends the collaborative efforts of the Wetumka Police Department, the District 22 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse Police following a successful operation resulting in the ex*****on of a search warrant at 609 E Porter in Wetumka, Oklahoma.
During the operation, law enforcement agencies uncovered and seized stolen farm equipment, illegal narcotics, and apprehended an individual in possession of a firearm despite a prior felony conviction. This operation stemmed from recent reports of stolen property by concerned citizens in Wetumka and rural Hughes County. The seized items were previously reported stolen from rural areas near Wetumka and Yeager.
"I commend the diligent work of my District 22 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, the Wetumka Police Department, and the Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse Police for their unwavering commitment to public safety," said District Attorney Erik Johnson. "This operation exemplifies that effective collaboration between our local law enforcement agencies is vital to the recovery of stolen property and the apprehension of those responsible for these crimes in our communities.” said Johnson.
As a result of the operation, one suspect, Phillip Cohen, has been formally charged, with additional arrests expected in the coming days as the investigation progresses. This is only an arrest. All suspects in this investigation are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
