The College Voice Since 2008 The VOICE has been one of the highest ranked two-year college newspapers in the nation.

The College VOICE is the award-winning student newspaper of Mercer County Community College in New Jersey. The VOICE is published monthly during each semester with both print and online editions. The VOICE publishes 2,000 copies of each print edition and distributes them at more than 40 locations on two campuses and throughout the Mercer County Public Library system. The online edition averages 35

0 individual page reads per day and more than 10,000 reads per month. The VOICE is one of the highest rated and most award-winning student newspapers in the nation. After lying dormant for more than four years, The VOICE was revived in the spring of 2008 under the direction of Journalism Professor Holly Johnson who serves as the paper’s primary media adviser. Since 2008 the paper has won 18 awards from the New Jersey Press Association, two awards from the Associated Collegiate Press association, a College Media Association Apple Award and 20 different Mark of Excellence awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. In 2010 The VOICE won the highest national honor from the Society of Professional Journalists, the award for Best All-Around Non-Daily 2-year newspaper. The winning streak may soon continue as The VOICE has been selected as an SPJ finalist for Region 1 in the Best All-Around category for 2011 (in addition to six other awards). Regional winners advance to the national competition which is voted on in early October of each year. The VOICE has an Editorial Board currently made up of five student editors. Although staff sizes fluctuate from semester to semester, each issue showcases the work of fifteen to twenty student journalists. Recent Editors in Chief of The VOICE have transferred to Stanford University, Columbia University, Hampshire College, Emmerson and TCNJ.

Human remains were stolen during one of what appear to be two linked burglaries in West Windsor yesterday. Those involved stole jewelry and prescription drugs and may have thought the box of cremated remains was filled with valuables.
