Classic Country 1370 Utah's Original Country Station, Classic Country 1370 am with Gentleman Jim from 6am to 8am, then Ha He signed on KSOP-FM at 104.3.

Welcome to Classic Country AM 1370, A locally owned and operated radio station. Back in February of 1955, a businessman by the name of Henry Hilton brought KSOP-AM 1370 on the air as the first Country Music station here in Utah. Then on December 10th of 1964, he took a gamble on a new kind of radio, FM radio. Since then both KSOP AM & FM have been bringing Country Music to the great state of Utah.

Z104 & Classic Country AM 1370 are still owned and operated by the Hilton Family. Thanks for listening and keeping local radio alive

Its Friday February 14th and its Valentine's Day! In 1939 Born on this day in La Fayette, Alabama, was Razzy Bailey American country music artist, who scored the 1980 #1 single "Loving Up a Storm". Bailey has had three double sided #1's in succession on the Country charts, a feat never accomplished by any other artist. Razzy is 86 today. Its National Cream-Filled Chocolates Day! In 1950 The #1 best selling Country record "Chattanoogie Shoe Shine Boy" by Red Foley became the first Country hit to cross over to the Pop chart. It’s Read to Your Child Day! In 1963 Skeeter Davis performs "The End Of The World" on the ABC-TV show "American Bandstand," hosted by Dick Clark. Now in 1973 Johnny Cash leaves a Charlotte, North Carolina, movie theater where his film, "The Gospel Road," is debuting, when the box office receives a threat on his life. A suspect is picked up at the YMCA, and Cash returns to the theater an hour late. Its International Winter Bike to Work Day! Its Thursday February 13th And its Dream Your Sweet Day! 1919 Born on this day in Bristol, Tennessee, was Ernest Jennings Ford better known as Tennessee Ernie Ford. The television host scored an unexpected hit in 1955 with his rendition of Merle Travis' "Sixteen Tons". Ford died on October 17, 1991 exactly 36 years after "Sixteen Tons" was released, and one day shy of the first anniversary of his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. It’s International Day of Self Love! In 1967 Dolly Parton released her debut album, Hello, I'm Dolly. It contained Parton's hits "Dumb Blonde" and "Something Fishy", both of which reached the top twenty on the country singles charts, and the album itself reached #11 on the country albums chart, a remarkable achievement, considering that Parton was largely an unknown at that point. It’s Kiss Day! In 1981The Bellamy Brothers sing "Do You Love As Good As You Look" and "If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me" on "The Midnight Special." Also appearing was Neil Diamond and Rick Nelson. Its National Italian Food Day! In 1973 Johnny Paycheck records "Mr. Lovemaker" in an evening session at the Columbia Recording Studios in Nashville. Moe is 81 today. It’s Lincoln's Birthday!I n 1993 Toby Keith released his debut single "Should've Been a Cowboy" and the first single from his self-titled debut album. And in 1970 Special guests on this week's Johnny Cash ABC television music variety show included, Ray Charles, Neil Diamond and Tammy Wynette. Ray Charles performed a version of “Ring Of Fire”, and a short version of “Walk The Line.” Its National Make a Friend Day! And in 1975 Willie Nelson’s recording of “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain” went on to become his first number one hit. Written by songwriter Fred Rose the song was originally performed by Roy Acuff and later by Hank Williams. It’s National Shut-in Visitation Day! And in 1752 the first hospital in the United States was opened to patients and in 1936 Burt Reynolds was born, he died on September 6th 2018. And in 1962 Sheryl Crow was born and she is 62 today. Its Satisfied Staying Single Day! And in 1984 Merle Haggard reached #1 on the Billboard country chart with the Lefty Frizzell song "That's The Way Love Goes". It’s Monday February 10th and its Clean Out Your Computer Day! And in 1960 songwriter singer Lionel Cartwright was born in Ohio. His vocal style leads to four Top 10 singles from 1989-1991, the biggest coming with "Leap Of Faith" And he is 65 today. Its National Cream Cheese Brownie Day! And in1981 a fire roared through the upper floors of the Las Vega Hilton Hotel, killing eight and injuring more than 200. Several members of Mac Davis’s band Barely escaped. Mac was performing at the hotel at the time of the fire. Its National Football Hangover Day! And in 1986 “The Highwayman” featuring Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash, the album was certified gold. It’s Umbrella Day! And in 1958 Marty Robbins held down the number one spot on the country charts with “The Story Of My Life” Its National Flannel Day! And in 1979 the number one country song was “Every Which Way But Loose” by Eddie Rabbitt, the title song from the Clint Eastwood movie of the same title. It stayed at number one for three weeks.
