Utah's Classic Country Utah's Original Country Station, KSOP...featuring Country Joe weekday mornings from 6am to 10am. He signed on KSOP-FM at 104.3.

Welcome to Classic Country AM 1370, A locally owned and operated radio station. Back in February of 1955, a businessman by the name of Henry Hilton brought KSOP-AM 1370 on the air as the first Country Music station here in Utah. Then on December 10th of 1964, he took a gamble on a new kind of radio, FM radio. Since then both KSOP AM & FM have been bringing Country Music to the great state of Utah.

With younger sibling Sonny, The Osborne Brothers become a major bluegrass duo, joining the Grand Ole Opry in 1964 and developing their signature song "Rocky Top" He died on June 27th 2023. It’s National Cotton Candy Day! And in 1948 Gary Morris is born in Fort Worth, Texas. A considerably talented singer, he piles up a string of hits beginning in 1980 before branching into night-time soaps and Broadway. He is 76 today. It’s Earmuff Day! And in 2003 Loretta Lynn is recognized during the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C., by President George W. It's later renamed the Grand Ole Opry. Jimmy Thompson's first-night songs include "When You And I Were Young Maggie" Its National French Toast Day! And in 1955 Kristine Oliver Arnold was born in Manhattan Beach, California. Along with older sister Janis Gill, they form Sweethearts Of The Rodeo, securing a string of rockabilly hits in the 1980s, Kristine is 70 today. It’s Red Planet Day! And in 1964 Willie Nelson makes his Grand Ole Opry debut and in 1992 Marty Stuart joins the Grand Ole Opry, the first new member added following the death of Roy Acuff. It's Letter Writing Day! And in 1941 Born on this day, in Brooklyn, New York, was Eddie Rabbitt, singer-songwriter and musician who wrote such hits as "Kentucky Rain" for Elvis Presley and "Pure Love" for Ronnie Milsap. Rabbitt died from lung cancer at the age of 56 on the 7th of May 1998. It’s Turkey-Free Thanksgiving! And in 1969 Johnny Cash was at #1 on the Album Country chart with “Live At San Quentin” a recording of a live concert given to the inmates of San Quentin State Prison. The album was nominated for a number of Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Male Country Vocal Performance for "A Boy Named Sue." It’s National Pins And Needles Day!
