Just heard someone say this.
“Some of you have covered up your messy gossiping spirit like it’s a spirit of intercession”

I’m working on a message concerning gossip and the damage it can do. Something that you need to understand when reading this verse in Proverbs, is it is not talking about the person who quote / unquote did the thing you are talking about. If a person tells you something about another individual and tries to discredit or defame them and YOU run and tell that person or someone else you are the one that is giving it legs. Let God deal with the person who starts the rumor but don’t be the one who carries it on. So much damage occurs because we allow the enemy to use our words. If someone stops attending church or church events because of something someone said and you are one that told them you are an accessory to the crime.

We are God’s people let’s act like it.

Jonah found a boat to take him to Tarshish even though the Lord asked him to go to Ninevah. I’ve been on that same boat heading away from where God wanted me. I, also like Jonah, had to later find my way back. The mercy of God came through a storm. The road back is always harder than original obedience but despite man’s ability to mess God’s plan up He is always able to get us back. Even if it takes a whale to do it. Have you lost your way from the Lord are you fleeing his direction reach out to God and other believers for help. My first ministry was Nursing Home ministry. I remember being dropped off at a local nursing home every week at 12 years old singing songs for an hour. I had a tiny keyboard and could barely play a few chords but to those ladies you would have thought I was a professional. Tonight we had one of our monthly outreach services at a local retirement complex. I couldn’t help but think about those dear ladies that I used to sing to as a kid. Outreach is the heartbeat of the church. Wouldn’t it be cool to have an Outreach team of singers, musicians, and preachers from different churches that conducted services and such with no agendas. The only agenda is souls for Christ. Imagine what could happen if Gods people would come together to reach our communities. It’s unfortunate that so few make outreach a priority. I’m really thankful for our WOH outreach team. We are few but mighty!
