2 Security Officers Killed, 6 Shot in First Hours of New Year

Charlotte NC January 2, 2023 At least eight security officers were just including two that died during the first few hours of the New Year.

According to CNN, a security officer in the San Diego area was killed during a confrontation with a man at an apartment. The security officer's name was not released.

The local CBS news station in Chicago has also reported a security guard working at a Ho**ah Lounge was also murdered.

Austin McAllister, a father of six, personal trainer and army veteran, was working as a bouncer at the Lyons Den Ho**ah Lounge.

Police said that the suspect forced his way into the ho**ah lounge with a gun. When that suspect was not allowed inside, he opened fire at the doorway.

Police say two men fired back.

"The guy couldn't get into the bar last night," Wade said. "The security guy was telling him he couldn't get in and the guy just took his life."

She said McAllister later died at Stroger Hospital.

"Hardworking, he served the country, he was out here trying to make a living for his children," Wade said.

No one is in custody in either homicide.

False calls about active school shooters are rising. Behind them is a strange pattern.

Conley, an extremism researcher who studies groups and people behind public displays of violence, said she found no indication that these calls were connected to fringe online spaces where these pranks often originate. But as the number of these reports swelled over time, Conley said she began to discern some very strange patterns — including the possibility that the calls may have come from overseas, and perhaps specifically from Africa.

The Department of Health and Human Services has released updated guidance to assist emergency medical services (EMS) providers in identifying the signs, symptoms, and risk factors for monkeypox.

Changes from the May 2022 initial guidance include the prevalence of atypical presentations and groups at the highest risk for contracting monkeypox.

988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline), and is now active across the United States.

When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
