Aerie Literary Journal

Aerie Literary Journal The University of Hartford's undergrad literary magazine. Submissions due October 9, 2015. An aerie is a nest for birds of prey, set on a rock face or tree top.

Thus Aerie, the University of Hartford's literary journal, seeks to be a home or haven for creative minded people on the Uhart campus. When Aerie was first introduced to the University in 1996, it served as a venue for the English Department to publish winning pieces from the Department’s annual writing contest. This magazine was run at the time exclusively by faculty. Aerie did not exist in its c

urrent form until Volume 5 in 2001 when a student editorial board took the reigns. The magazine then began accepting submissions from all undergraduate students. Today, Aerie is stronger and more diverse than ever. The magazine accepts poetry, short fiction, personal essays, plays, visual and media arts, and even the more experimental forms such as graphic novels, satires, and hybrid works. For submission guidelines and more information, visit aeriejournal.com . The submission deadline for Aerie 2016 is October 9th, 2015.
