**Friday's Freezing Rain Update (7:40am Wednesday)**
*Timing*
Freezing rain is expected to develop around 6am Friday. As temperatures warm, freezing rain will change to rain from south to north. Most areas will see all rain after 2pm.
*Totals*
A trace of ice is possible south of US 6. A glaze of ice less than 0.1" is expected between US 6 and the turnpike. More than 0.1" of ice is possible north of the turnpike with up to 0.25" of ice from Monroe to Adrian.
*Impact*
The main impact will be slick and hazardous roads on Friday morning. Ice totals around 0.25" or higher is considered "significant" as the weight of the ice is enough to start breaking small tree branches. We could near this threshold from Monroe to Adrian and areas north. If that occurs, isolated power outages are possible.
*Uncertainty*
There is still some uncertainty in the storm track and ice accumulations on Friday. Also a small temperature change can have a large impact on how much ice accumulates. The forecast could improve or get worse over the next 48 hours.
