Wellesley College radio WZLY is Wellesley College's student-run radio station. There are approximately 150 members in WZLY as of Fall 2021.

WZLY was the first historically women's college radio station with its first broadcast on April 20th, 1942. You can tune in at wzly.org/listen

And finally we have Aliea, our amazing General Manager!!!

Hi !! I’m Aliea (she/they) and im so so excited to be your general manager this year! I’m a rising senior 😵‍💫 from NJ majoring in MAS + an Econ minor. As GM, I mainly work with our lovely secretary Ace to oversee WZLY’s daily operations and generally make sure everything is running Smoothly!

This summer I’ve been working with Wellesley’s Youth, Media, and Wellbeing research lab on their digital wellbeing workshop and hanging out with my two dogs

hi! my name is ace (she/they) and i am so very very excited to be ur secretary this year!

i’m a senior from houston, tx majoring in music and english, and you may recognize me as the wzly historian from the past two years! i’ve spent my summer doing a little bit of traveling, reading, playing videogames, listening to the new queens of the stone age album, and teaching at a music school. it’s been a lot of fun!

i love dragons, singing, practicing my handwriting, onions, shiny objects, writing, the fantasy genre, and, of course, mountain dew baja blast.

hey y’all! i’m cheynie and i’m so so excited to be the news director for wzly this year! i’m a rising sophomore from the beautiful state of virginia and i’m majoring in english and political science. this summer i’ve been traveling and working on my new blog that i’m launching very soon!

around campus i work as an editor for the wellesley news and this year i’ll be an ra in stone-davis! i love all music but pop, hip hop, and soft rock dominate my playlists. i am an avid concert-goer and my most recent show was beyoncé! and when i’m not working, listening to music, or going to concerts then you can find me journaling!

Eliana is next as our lovely business director !

Hi WZLY!!! I’m Eliana (they/she) and I’ll be your business director this year! I’m a prospective history and sociology major from Austin, Texas. I’ve spent this summer reading at the register of various Wag A Bags, a gas station chain from Round Rock (home of THE round rock).

I usually listen to indie, punk, and alternative rock and country music, and most often I’m listening to Elliott Smith, Purple Mountains, Lingua Ignota, or Kimya Dawson. I have a small collection of CDs and cassettes for the radio in my room, with most of the CDs being my mom’s complete collection of Prince’s discography.

Whenever I have free time I love roaming Boston. My record for a Boston walk is 16 miles, but I’ll probably break that early on in the semester. I’m always in search of new bookshops, record stores, or coffee houses to visit so let me know if you have any suggestions!!!

Elle is our historian!!! 🐞

Hello wzly! My name is Elle (she/her), and I am over the moon to be your historian this year!!

I am a rising sophomore majoring in Art History and Philosophy. This summer I interned for a performance art archive, got halfway to a driver’s license, and did a lot of writing!

Music-wise my faves are currently Stereolab, Lou Reed, Kahimi Karie, Erykah Badu and Fiona Apple.

As historian I hope to begin a digital archive for the org, and a spam flip book to be passed around on campus!

Hello! I’m Lo (she/her), and will be this year’s Media Director! I am a rising junior, and I’m majoring in MAS with a concentration in Media Sciences. Last semester I was Campus Events Co-coordinator and had a blast DJing events!

I’m from Springdale, Arkansas, and I love love love my home. I have been reading a lot this summer, and my favorite book so far is ‘The Crimson Labyrinth’ by Yusuke Kishi!

I’m a big fan of all pop music, but NewJeans and Faye Webster have my ear for the moment! I am a big dancer, so I will always be dancing at any event! In my free time, I dabble in nails and pranks.

Hi everybody! It’s that time for eboard intros again!! we’re starting with our new tech director lulu! 💕

Hi ZLY! I'm Lulu (she/her), and I'm super excited to be your new Tech Director! I am a rising sophomore chem major and hail from Arlington, MA. I've spent a very chill summer at home, coaching tennis and working at a small pizza shop in Belmont, MA.
Over the summer, I've also been collecting CDs to play on my show when I get back on campus, I like using CDs because I think it's fun, and I want to encourage everyone to look into different types of media for playing music. My taste runs towards jazz, but I'm into a little bit of everything.

MD Committee is super thrilled to be in ur inboxes today to share that Listening Club is returning TONIGHT from 8-9 PM in the Billings Penthouse for our latest monthly get-together to talk about music. We're sooo excited to host this event, and hopefully see everyone there!! If you haven't been to the Billings Penthouse, you definitely will know where it is, because it's in the same building as our lovely WZLY Station, just up on the 4th floor- there are stairs, and also elevator access.

This month, instead of providing an album or playlist for you to listen to and bring your thoughts on, MD Committee wants to open the floor for some organic discussion. That's why this month, our theme for Listening Club is "Friend of a Friend." Bring recent releases (Spotify links, Bandcamp links, MP3 files, etc.) of artists you, or someone you know, knows personally; this is your chance to plug your friends' (or your cousin's, or your neighbor's dad's coworker's) music to the ZLY community! If you yourself make music, this is also open as a chance for you to promote your own work.

We'll be making a collaborative playlist at Listening Club and listening to tracks as we talk and hang out. Bring friends! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Hope to see you all there!

Today WZLY DJs and Eboarders met to look through old posters, pictures, and ephemera. It’s always enlightening seeing what WZLY was like in days of old and using that to inform the future. Another group will be headed to the archives tomorrow for an extra-special visit on WZLY’s 81st Birthday! Who knows what they might find….
