Here’s a cookie tip you may find useful. Watch me change my mind midway, and scrape off the balloons. The base is fully dry to allow for writing with my fine tip edible marker from tweets cookie connection. It also made it possible to scrape off the design without ruining a cookie. I’m using a tool called a Thing-amagenie from The Cookie Countess. Marbling cookies is a fun technique. Here are a few tips: Use between 10-12 second icing. I’m using red royal icing with white as my base, but you can choose to drop gel color directly into your base for a more dramatic look. Swirl with a toothpick or scribe. Add more base if your colors get too mixed or start a fresh bowl. Be patient and allow the excess to drip back into the bowl before flipping the cookie over ( this video is sped up quite a bit). This will minimize the drips over the edges of your cookie. Mix your color together when you finish and save the color if you like it or to use it for black. I received a gift of some cute Koisaria Cookie Cutters cutters from my friend Julia’s Cookies AZ They come as a set with a cutter and an impression stamp. I’ve never used cutters like this before and I admit there was a slight learning curve for me, but they are fun to use. I knew I wanted to try the tic tac toe bunny and I did need to dip the tiny feet and tail cutters in flour to help remove the dough. I also may have pressed the stamp in a bit deeper than I needed to, but kind of liked the effect.
