One of the primary goals of Apple Tree Magic is to create experiences for creative, spotlight willing kids to enjoy using their gifts and engage their propensity to speak, act, demonstrate and lead.
It wasn’t until I was 30 that I realized I didn’t need to somehow manage my impulse to speak and contribute, but rather it was about understanding what to communicate and to whom.
What I love most about yesterday’s show was this young girl, Cate, who wanted her mat to be where it was possible she could get on tv and my response to her being “how about you sit on my mat with me.”
Her willingness and confidence is inspiring and it made me happy to have that kind of magic within the magic of community and in the spirit of having a little fun with wellness minded people.
Thank you again to Cate - a young budding theatre star in Saint Louis - and to @showmestlouis for making it all possible! @marycaltridertv is a genius ☀️✌🏼❤️
Yesterday’s magic making was extra special as it was infused with the crisp and thoughtful creativity of a 6 y/o collaborator!
We did a test run of the story concept while making the color palette, experimenting with water and sunlight and blending / blotting.
I love being creative when it serves as a place for kids to be their most creative selves.
I am especially excited to bring what seems to be nothing, what seems to be only an idea or colored scrapes of paper into form… follow along for the butterflies to take shape and thank you all, as always, for your support.
PS: is her idea not absolutely PHENOMENAL!?!
