If you are like me, I had carousels and carousels of slides taken by my dad. I decided that I couldn't let them fade away so I scanned over 3000 slides and I now have memories preserved for future generations.
I usually scan them at 2400 dpi which gives you a 3 to 5mb size file that you can print selected ones. The price depends on the number of slides to do.
Time is definitely not on our side and they will loose their quality.

Do you have alot of music cds? Why not digitized them and put them on your phone or other mp3 device?
Do you have family videos put on dvds but don't have the digital file that was used to create them?

Time is not on your side if you still have family memories on tape. They will eventually degrade to a point where they won't be recoverable.
I can capture most audio and video tapes if they are still readable. They will be in a digital form that can be shared with all your family with no degradation of the quality of the capture.

Before the age of digital photography came about, we took photos saved to film.
Then, we had to get them developed and printed as pictures where we could put them into albums.
And we all have numerous photo holders for those individual rolls of film.
Digitizing them one by one could be an huge time commitment.

Do you have family albums full of pictures or documents that are glued in or would probably be destroyed if you tried to remove them to scan?
I have a large format scanner that can scan books and albums that have splines and with the software, it can flatten the completed image.
This is great to archive those valuable items for safe keeping.

As time goes marching on and we all get older, our memories can sometimes start to fail us.
It becomes priceless to have those audio and video histories to view and pass along to other family members who may have not been around when those who have passed on were here.
Don't take a chance on loosing those valuable keepsakes!

I see a lot of dissatisfied people who sent their videos and other media to a large company that digitize tape with the length of time that it takes to receive the completed project back.
My turnaround time is usually less than 3 weeks and most of the time less than half of that.

In our parents' generation, shooting video was the new thing and costly to get into so alot of them captured memories on cassette recorders.
Do you have old audio cassettes of relatives speaking and telling family history?

Anytime is a good time to preserve those old video or audio tapes before they are lost.
At least they should be stored in a dry, dark area so that they have the best chance of being recovered when you are ready.

Now that the hectic holidays have passed, your old tapes can be recovered to save for your family.
I have digitized tapes that shows long-lost family members that some have never seen or heard and have brought sweet memories.
