I've been narrating the AARP Policy Now videos for four years. In that time, our whole team has never been in the same spot together... until last night! Thank you, producer extraordinaire, Kim Sedmak for being our wonderful leader on this project. Great reconnecting with Don Fish, who has edited some of my AARP stories in the past, and meeting graphic artist Felipe Ruiz-Mendoza. Kim surprised us with Anthem Award trophies (not just a certificate!) we received for the video last year. I'm so proud of the work we do. It's helpful for those navigating life.

Thrilled to learn an ongoing project, for which I narrate, has received three The Anthem Awards. These are the first EVER for AARP Policy Now. Congratulations to AARP and the entire team!

I am so proud to work with Kim Sedmak, Don Fish, and Felipe Ruiz-Mendoza on these videos.

The series was recognized with a Gold, Silver, and Bronze Anthem Award, all in the human rights category. The GOLD was in the Human & Civil Rights Category for News & Journalism.

The online series first debuted in June 2021 and is designed to “lift policy off the page.” The videos are distributed via social media monthly. To date, AARP has recorded more than 4.37 million views on X alone.

Truly love my freelance life. It is so enriching.
