“We built it. We paid for it. It’s ours.”

That was Ronald Reagan’s take on how we should think about the Panama Canal when Americans were debating giving it to the Panamanian government in the 1970s. President-elect Donald Trump recently revived this issue in a series of social media posts and in his speeches. He’s right to do that, as I’ll explain in a bit:

Such suggestions today would almost certainly prompt Carter’s fellow Democrats to accuse him of “voter suppression” or “Jim Crow 2.0.”

“You want to play the game, we’re going to play the game,” he warned.

Officials who don’t work with ICE to deport criminal illegal aliens are “endangering the community, the immigrant community, because they are most likely to re-offend in that community,” Homan said during an interview with Tucker Carlson.

How are more and more people actually connecting to the internet these days? Via the private sector, obviously. And via wireless connections, of course. Via the networks built in the air rather than in the ground. And as ever more people connect wirelessly, ever more cut their grounded cords. All by its onesies, wired king Comcast is losing nearly 400,000 subscribers this year.
