It marks the day on June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved individuals were now free.

Tagg Magazine is not just q***r-owned, but also black-owned, and we encourage you to celebrate this day and uplift others! A few ways you can celebrate are:

2. Engage in meaningful discussions about racial justice and equality.
