JOY TO THE WORLD! What a night! God has certainly been faithful towards me as I pressed to escape a cold and just needing HIS strength to press through. Things run a heck of a lot easier, too, when you can lean on a team of people who believe in you and want the same level of excellence you desire!
Washington National Cathedral music team (Mike McCarthy Tom Sheehan Erin Hanke) thanks for your “you got it” whenever I asked. Did I ask a lot?!? 😁My incomparable musical colleague and friend, Jason Max Ferdinand, you have some gifted hands and you are forcing us to press even harder with excellence. Thank you and your dynamic singers! My beloved, precious lamb-Kings and Queens of Washington Performing Arts , it is YOU who pushes me to be a better director, a better human being. I love y’all so very much! Extend thanks to the WPA team Kathy Ray Brewington who keeps things organized and David G. Powell who helped with co-directing rehearsals (or whatever music needs were needed), both, in a spirit of Love. Sound man Marlon Daniel of MRDSound and the sound team at WNC Mark Huffman and Joshua Hunter, video team member Boom Washington, some of the dopest musicians in the DMV Anthony 'Tony' Walker, Quincy Phillips, Hamilton Hayes, Marshall Keys, Carl Lundgren, Kenny Rittenhouse, Joe Herrera, Reginald Cyntje, my other church family members of Community Praise Church Milli Mike, Lajoya Assent, and Jasmine A Jacobs, Megan Winner, Ben Hawker, Jonathan Hoffman (all contemporary ensemble singers at WNC), friend/co-worker at the cathedral Janae D. Barber and my family and friends who came out last night. And surprise!!!! Madame VP Kamala Harris. Your presence was appreciated. HU!!!!!
