For most of my life I have kept my circle small. I know a lot of people, but I've only let a certain few really close. Talking about my emotions or feelings was never my strong suit. Mike Burr was one of those few. From nights out on the town, me with my guitar him with his harmonica playing open jams, to waking my father up at 3 am because we thought hey why not play music in the in this treehouse (long story). He was more than a friend he was a brother to me. To all of you that were also close to him I'm sorry. But if you're going to remember anything please remember this. Mike was unapologetically himself. That was his allure. He said what he wanted to say, did what he wanted to do and if you didn't like it that was your problem... and I respected him for that may not have always agreed with him, but I respected him. Some of the hardest times I have been through were met by the raspy voice yelling out, "ayyyyy F^&* it we're going out" because he was there for everyone he knew and cared about. I will miss him more than any post can express. And I'll leave you with this a quote from one of his favorite author's Charles Bukowski
"What is terrible is not death, but the lives people live or don't live up until their death"
Mike lived his and I will choose to celebrate it every chance I get.
