“I want to own my own business, do what I love every day, and have work-life balance”
“Can I accomplish this in today’s industry as a private practice owner?”
These are two things April Shoberg says she hears most often when speaking with both seasoned owners and dentists thinking about owning their own private practice.
“The answer, is ABSOLUTELY” says April. April started her career in the den
tal field in 2002 as a dental hygiene assistant. With a strong desire to learn everything about the industry, she quickly moved throughout other positions in the office. With her background in sales, she found a love and passion for the Treatment Coordinator position. April describes this position as being the quarterback of any dental office. For her, it was an opportunity to work hand in hand with clinicians, educating patients, and creating value in the dentistry they need. April quickly became the most efficient treatment coordinator in the practice and began training others in that position at multiple office locations. This is where she says “I was able to grow personally and professionally, while connecting with people and helping them find success, on a much bigger scale.”
Over the years, April has gained valuable experience while working with private practices, dental management organizations, and every type of specialty practice. Her results-driven mindset and fresh ideas have helped new offices open their doors, build their brand and achieve positive cash flow and seasoned practices elevate their success to the next level. April understands that every practice is different and has their own culture. She assures owners and team members that there is not ONE right way to run any business, especially dental practices. From team building to recruiting, she utilizes her expertise in connecting with people to optimize employee engagement. Her ability to analyze dental practices from every angle, including maximizing profit margins, enables her to work “with” the practice to set measurable goals and outline specific action plans. April has a successful track record of recruiting team members for all clinical and non-clinical positions, training, improving body language and verbiage to increase case acceptance, create value and lead patients to schedule when YOU want them to, team building, increasing hygiene revenue, implementing periodontal programs THAT WORK, new patient and existing patient retention analysis and solutions, marketing strategies, AR/production/collections analysis as well as in depth P&L analysis and solutions to reduce costs and increase profit margins.
