Kenny Chesney made a big announcement on the Today show Thursday morning.
The country superstar will take over at Sphere in Las Vegas! He becomes the first country artist to headline there.
Chesney’s 12-date Live at Sphere residency kicks off May 22 with shows scheduled for May 24-25, 28 and 30-31 and June 4, 6-7, 11 and 13-14.
“I’m always looking for ways to deepen the way No Shoes Nation experiences this music,” Chesney said in a statement announcing the residency. “Over the years, they have shown me through their own response to these songs how passionate they are about what they mean, how they’re part of their lives. When people give you that much heart, I want to give them even more."
Tickets for Chesney's Sphere shows will go on sale Friday, Jan. 31 at KennyChesney.com.

Orville Peck is heading to Broadway!
The 37-year-old country music star will make his Broadway debut in New York City as Emcee in Cabaret.
He will replace Adam Lambert in the role. Two-time Tony nominee Eva Noblezada will play Sally Bowles, currently being played by “Moana” star Auli’i Cravalho.
Orville‘s 16-week run at the August Wilson Theatre begins March 31.
“I grew up as an actor and doing theater and for a lot of people this is a really coveted role in musical theater because it’s so open to interpretation and an incredible character,” he said to Variety. “This was always a dream role of mine when I was a young actor.”
As for whether he’ll ditch his signature mask?
“I will say this – people will have to buy a ticket to find out,” he said.

Zach Bryan teased an upcoming film that documents the recording of his “final major-label album.”
In November 2024, Bryan announced plans to quit touring and move to Paris to pursue a master's degree. Now, he's announcing a forthcoming feature film with the help of one Hollywood A-Lister.
“This is not a film about a band,” Matthew McConaughey began in a post on Instagram. “This is a film about a boy from Oklahoma, a boy who joined the Navy with a love of writing. That writing connected with people — a lot of people."
“This film is about a group of best friends taking a two-week motorcycle ride across America while recording one final major label album," he continued.
“Oh, and the title of the film, you ask? ‘Motorbreath.’”
The post offered no further details about the project. Bryan also released a snippet of a new song potentially titled “Birdie."
This summer, Zach will headline a show at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in July. He also has back-to-back weekend shows scheduled for June at London’s Hyde Park.
