Township officials have issued a rare, town-wide boil water notice after a massive water pipe break by the bridge at Franklin Street and Brookside Terrace. The Verona Department of Public Works, Police Department, Fire Department and Office of Emergency Management are actively working on the situation. "You may experience periods of no service, low pressure and discolored water," the town said in its alert. "A Boil Water Advisory means any water that will be used for cleaning, human or pet consumption should be boiled and cooled first. Refrain from swallowing water when showering or bathing." Today, VHS girls field hockey got its first varsity win in decades. Yes, you read that right. VHS phased out field hockey in the ‘80s. It was brought back in 2019 as a JV sport before going varsity this season. Julia Komninos scored the goal that enabled Verona to defeat Mt. Saint Dominic, assisted by Sarah Knoetig on a corner penalty. Ava Perry was in goal and repeatedly shut down the MSDA offense. There were strong defensive performances by Dani Imbriano and Bella Maglifiore. Congratulations ladies! @veronaathletics
