That's right. It's been 4 months since The tornado that's spun off of Hurricane Milton hit us. We replace the fence to keep The kids in the neighborhood from falling into the pool, The roof has been repaired, the mailbox replaced (because the postal service would not deliver our mail until we replaced it ), and the and lamppost in front of our house were replaced so no one would get hurt coming up our walkway (The ceiling and light in front of the house need replacement still as well) the insulation cleaned off of the outside of most of the house so that we didn't have to breathe it in.

Our home is still boarded up in the back. The ceilings are still boarded. We have to replace the insulation in the attic and about 25 other things to do but our insurance company hasn't sent us enough money to do it. We've already paid a lot out of pocket.

We have sent estimates from 3 different companies. A window company, our contractor, And THEIR certified vendor...all claiming the same cost to replace. has given us a total of
the cost of the fence, the roof repair and the lamp and mailbox to replace everything from the ceiling, the roof, the lights, the insulation, the back of the house sliders, the gutters, the soffits and fascia, the pipe that broke, the debris cleanup, the fence (they said the pool cage wasn't covered) and all of the personal property and food we lost, etc.

We have never had a claim before. The cost of our insurance in Florida is obscene. This is not right.

I was holding back, but as a writer for two major national news outlets, I guess it's time to unleash the kraken.

Let's try this again. It's 24 hours since I left San Francisco International Airport (SFO) for Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) I don't think that I've ever appreciated the Centurion Lounge more than right now.

I'm definitely switching my preferred airline and am very disappointed with how handled this. I'm not faulting them for the 6 hour delay followed by another delay after finally bringing a new plane in (maintenance issues happen and I'd rather be safe), but the customer service was atrocious.

It's been one of the toughest few months, health-wise that I think we've ever been through. Now that there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel we decided we deserve a vacation.

This is one of those times that I wish the internet offered scratch and sniff because there is nothing like curling up in bed enveloped in the scent of Italian Bergamot from my detergent pods and dryer sheets

I am very particular about my sheets and only use beautiful French flax linen, so what I wash them in is extremely important. Not only does Laundry Sauce detergent get them as clean as can be but the beautiful androgynous scent lasts all week long.

Even my picky husband likes it.
