Northwest Book Fair Mark your calendars for July 19, 2025 at the Artillery Barracks, Vancouver, WA.

This year, we're bringing together authors, crafters, and readers from across the Northwest for a day of books, networking and community fun.

Just a brief update on the upcoming workshop with Angela Sanders. It's going to be a two-hour session.
Workshop 1: Basics of Plotting
Workshop 2: Live Plot a Mystery

The conference area for the workshop only holds 30 people but she has said it is okay to video it!

So for those who can't attend it in person, there will be a replay for those who pre-register.

We may be asking for a donation to help us meet expenses of $5 or any amount to help. While preregister is not available now I wanted to give you an update.

First Workshop for Northwest Book Fair!

Registrations are filling in fairly fast for the Northwest Book Fair on July 19 at the Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks.

Currently, we are 1/4 of the way filled with 1 crafter, 11 authors, and 4 reserved tables for KXRW vendors. Plus four inquiries are pending.

Just want to give you a heads up so if you are planning on attending you don't delay too long.

Hurray for me! Made it through the halfway point of my Social Media course. Created this video as part of building a Facebook ad.

Make a video with Meta.ai

Here is what I did.

I went to Meta.ai

Then I started the text with the word "imagine" and described what I wanted.

I typed, "A red balloon flying through white fluffy clouds."

It created four images.

I selected one and above the image was the option to "animate" so I did that.

Then I opened up Canva, searched templates for a "Facebook Video." Found a template I liked . . . Ma

Uploaded my balloon video - changed the words. Duplicated the reel to make it longer.

And here it is!

I just had a fun and in-depth conversation with Jessica Julian for my upcoming program - Northwest Book Talk.

As an artist and an author, Jessica took a road less traveled by for publishing her book, Ebby the Magnificent.

It's an inspirational look at how you don't have to follow the rules and guidelines to produce an amazing book.

It will air on Wednesday - KXRW.FM - and shortly thereafter (as soon as I get around to it) on all the major Podcast platforms.

Oh, and btw - Jessica will be at the Northwest Book Fair - hope you will too!

Even though it is 198 days away it is still a great time to put it on your calendar and plan for the Fun!

There are two steps before reserving your spot.
1. Read the Author Qualifications
2. Fill out the Author Bio Form

Registration is open until all spots are filled. I will keep you posted as to the number of spots available from time to time.

All proceeds after expenses go to support KXRW.FM our local radio station here in Vancouver, Washington.

Book Fair Registration is almost open!

Will probably be adapting things as I go along and for now will only be announcing it here for a week or two as I muddle through getting all the bits and pieces together.

At this point I have no idea if the places will be filled fast or slow . . . but if slow I have months to get the word out.

One of the fun things about going to a Book Fair is all the free stuff!

Each week I am going to share a theme about a Free Giveaway that can be DIY or made cheaply.

These can be used at the bookfair of course, or any author event you might attend.
