Christmas Caroling Party 2024 ❤️🎄 We sang, we laughed, we ate. A great time with great people. Thank you to the parents who brought food, helped finalize music binders, and chipped in any way they could! We were happy to carol 5 locations (which filled our whole hour!) LOVE finding new ways to challenge my students as they challenge me. Ever done a wall push up on your fingertips?? This quirky kinesthetic exercise helped this young singer hit a phrase easily that was a slight struggle before.
Why did this work? Our body needs to be reminded how to breathe correctly sometimes. Our muscles get “lazy” or dormant and we think that we can breathe the same for SINGING as we do to SPEAK casually. This is NOT the case.
Breathing for singing takes much more engagement of the abdomen. Every singer is different and often it takes different approaches to get a singer to engage their core properly, to facilitate the breath support needed to carry out a phrase.
Long story short: singing is a work out. 🏋🏼♀️💪🏼🗣️
