Rufus is used in exibition and educational settings to educate and inform people about Whitetail Deer. Rufus was found by Gary O'Neal and his Lab caught in a fence when he was a day old, he still had his umbilical cord attached. What started as a simple rehabilitation task for O'Neal, this relationship between him and Rufus grew into a tight bond. Rufus spent the first 4 months of his life living
in the O'Neal home. From there he was moved into his own habitat at Springcreek Wildlife. Today, Rufus lives in an 8 acre habitat complete with his own barn. Rufus has traveled across the State of Georgia appearing at many wildlife festivals and events. Rufus has gained a huge following of fans since he has been able to be exhibited by the Georgia Dept. Fans from all over the state and southeast travel to see this amazing 200 class Whitetail Deer at his appearances. During the Summer of 2011 Rufus was used in the television series Walking Dead. He will appear during the inagural episode in October 2011.
