Extreme cold temperatures moving in this weekend…

The National Weather Service has placed central Ohio under an extreme cold watch.

The NWS in Wilmington warns temperatures will be in the single digits for daytime highs and nighttime temperatures of 5 to 10 degrees below zero could plummet with the wind chill to as low as 15-25 degrees below zero.

Please be safe when traveling or venturing outdoors. Take precautions for school aged children who are exposed to the weather, to and from school.

Sheriff Chad Burroughs has issued a LEVEL TWO snow emergency as of 01:40 am for Champaign County. Please use extreme caution as roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. STAY SAFE!!
