Public i Be the Media! The Public i is a working group of the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center. If you want to get involved, email us at [email protected].

It is the only news-focused, collectively-run, non-profit newspaper in Urbana-Champaign and publishes ten (10) issues per year. We are always looking for new volunteers to write, contribute, do web design, distribute papers, and more! At the current time we meet virtually on Wednesdays, at 7 pm. As we approach our tenth anniversary in 2025 we are delighted to launch our new website which beautifully captures the work of all our projects and staff.

This website is part of a new phase of our development-more programs, more connections to the community and more resources for our constituency. In 2025 we will be launching our new transition house for people coming home from women's prisons. We ask you to support this project and all the vital work of FirstFollowers with whatever donation you can afford.
