We're honored to have Josephine Craven return to the iBAM! stage for 3 performances in 2024.

On Saturday, 11/16 at 2pm, join Craven for Behind the Mask: Unveiling the Life and Poetry of W.B. Yeats as she explores Yeats’ life, loves, and the Ireland that shaped his poetry. Throughout the talk, she'll bring Yeats' words to life, performing a selection of his pieces.

On Sunday, at 1pm, Craven is joined by Barney Farrelly for An Afternoon of Irish Drama, as the two seasoned actors present readings from Ireland’s most beloved plays.

Also Sunday, at 3pm, Craven performs Clifden’s Daughter, by playwright Mary Santarelli. She is accompanied by musicians Katie Grennan and John Williams. The play celebrates the transformative power of human connection and the families we choose, inviting audiences to laugh, cry, and embrace the beauty of life’s unexpected adventures. One of the highlights of iBAM! is the Chicago premiere of The Hegartys of the Laurels. An independent movie shot on location in Cork, the film tells the story of how a family home played a crucial role in Ireland’s independence struggle in Cork. The Laurels was a tranquil homestead and the center of a thriving market gardening business.

With the outbreak of the War of Independence, the Hegarty homestead was transformed into a nucleus of subversive activity; a safe house, landmine factory, arms and ammunition dump, the No 1 Brigade’s base, and a base for Cumann na mBan’s intelligence gathering.

Check it out on Saturday, 11/16 at 1:30pm at the free weekend long iBAM! celebration at Irish American Heritage Center. Presented by Culture Ireland and Irish Film Institute (IFI). www.ibamchicago.com
